Celebrate Paralympics with range of activities
The Kirklees Youth Games Flame Celebration will play host to the Paralympic Flame, and includes a range of free events for children.
The event will finish with a closing ceremony as the lantern containing the Paralympic Flame arrives in Huddersfield.

Hide AdChildren and young people can enjoy trying out sports such as curling, bowling, wheelchair basketball and battax walls.
All activities are suitable for children aged seven and over.
Other activities are giant jenga and connect four, as well as Nordic Walking, golf, boccia, dance and football.
Coun Masood Ahmed said: “We are delighted that Huddersfield has been chosen as one of 33 communities that will host events to celebrate the Paralympic Flame.

Hide AdIt is a great honour and we want families to come and enjoy our celebration and are particularly keen to encourage children with a disability or sensory impairment to join in the fun.”
The event takes place at the Leeds Road Sports Complex, Huddersfield, on Friday August 24 from noon. The lantern is expected to arrive at 3.30pm.
