Lynsey puts best foot forwards for charity mountain challenge
Lynsey Chandler, who has already done a skydive for charity, is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, later this year to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Lynsey, who works at Boots Chemist in Old Bank Road, said she heard about the climb through her employers.

Hide AdShe said: “I saw it on the Boots website and me and my friend, Lynne Holden, both applied.
“ We were put on a reserve waiting list but then in October last year we found out we both had places.
“There is a team of 30 people doing it and everyone that’s taking part has to raise £4,500.
“I’ve arranged charity nights at the Pear Tree and the Dusty Miller pubs in Mirfield to help towards the fundraising.

Hide Ad“It’s a great challenge for me and a great way to raise money.”
Lynsey said this was her first climbing challenge –but she was no stranger to adrenaline.
She said: “I have done a charity skydive for my friend’s little boy who had flat head syndrome.
“We had to raise £2,000 for a special helmet for him to wear to correct the condition.

Hide Ad“I am looking forward to the climb – it is a great way to make friends and one of these things that not many people would do in their lifetime.
“I am a bit apprehensive but It’s something I want to do.”
Lynsey, of Hollindene Drive, has already raised £1,235, including £170 from a cake sale at work where customers and colleagues bought buns. She thanked everyone who had supported her so far.
