Primary school expansions given green light by Kirklees
Plans to expand three primary schools in North Kirklees have been given the green light by council chiefs.
The changes have been adopted to meet the growing need for junior school places in the area.
An extra 140 places will be assigned to Heaton Avenue Primary in Cleckheaton, with a further 105 at Leesside Community Primary in Heckmondwike.

It is expected that some remodelling work will take place at Heaton Avenue to accommodate the changes, which will see its pupil intake rise to a total of 420, excluding its nursery. The council has pledged £500,000 to help schools adapt.
