Heckmondwike cyclists perform well in defeat
Despite being a few riders short for both the senior and junior matches, the Heckmondwike team raced well against a very strong Astley outfit.
Pawel Idziorek led the way for Heckmondwike with 18 points and other contributions came from Darren Kent , Justin Naylor, Laura Watson, Adam Watson and Mick Knowles but it was home side Astley and Tyldesley who ran out 90-59 winners
Result: Astley & Tyldesley 90, Heckmondwike 59.

In the junior match between the clubs, Heckmondwike only raced three riders compared to the home team’s six.
Heckmondwike’s Will Naylor preformed well to put pressure on the Astley riders and was just one point off claiming maximum haul for the visitors, with support coming from Tom Whitwam and Bella Naylor.

Hide AdHeckmondwike now take a two week break from cycle speedway racing, although training continues as usual on Wednesday nights between 7.30pm to 9pm at Firth Park ,Heckmondwike WF16 0HH, opposite Morrisons petrol station.
